We also provide other obstetricians with assistance in the management of their high-risk patients, usually in the setting of pregnancy complications. We assist most of the obstetricians of Main Line Healthcare and Women's Healthcare Group of Pennsylvania. This is usually performed in one of our Perinatal Testing Centers. We usually assess the patient's fetuses with ultrasound (assessing gestational age and fetal growth, evaluating for birth defects and genetic conditions). We also provide genetic assessments (blood screening for genetic issues and fetal testing including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling) and assessments of fetal well-being. Some patients require a more comprehensive management plan, which is performed in a consultation.
We see patients at 6 Perinatal Testing Centers across Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Our testing centers include:
General obstetricians care for most pregnant women. Sometimes pregnancies can be more complicated ("high-risk") than usual. Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists have additional training so that they can care for and monitor high-risk pregnancies. Perinatal geneticists have additional training in the diagnosis and management of genetic disorders in pregnancy. All of the physicians in our practice have specialty training in either Maternal-Fetal Medicine or Perinatal Genetics.
